SERVICES/APPROACH

The relationship between therapist and client helps fuel the change that we all want and need. I believe it is important for therapist and client to work together as a team. Given the importance of this, I approach therapy from a client centered manner, meaning that my style of therapy/treatment is altered based on your needs. I consider myself an eclectic therapist. I use a variety of evidenced based therapies, such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), and ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy). My method of practice can also include more psychodynamic approaches such as inner child work and attachment based therapies which allow clients to work through past traumas. I often give homework to support clients in continuing the therapeutic work outside of the therapeutic space. Additional treatment orientations I tend to practice include, experiential therapy, expressive arts, family systems, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, and solution focused therapy.

WHAT TO EXCPECT

Prior to our first session, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation which allows us to get to know each other. You can share your struggles or struggles of your loved one and I provide information about my practice, techniques and how I will support you and/or your loved one. During the initial session, we will explore the concerns that brought you in and create a Treatment Plan specific to your needs. Throughout our sessions, we will work towards meeting your goals and decreasing undesirable symptoms.
